2023 was one of our best ever Merlot years with a long cool ripening matched to enough heat to give full flavor development. This wine is made from two separate picks, two weeks apart. It has full ripe flavours of cherry and plum with bright crimson hues. Nine months in older barrels provides structure with minimal oak flavours. It is a wine that drinks well in its youth but will reward cellaring for 5-10 years. Serve with Swiss brown mushrooms, grilled haloumi, eggplant and dried tomato, wrapped in proscuitto with truffle and parsnip mash.
