Francesca de Valence is infatuated with self-expression. Her songs are unabashed, uncovering powers to live her magnificent life.   A 10 year old Francesca performing

a Bach violin sonata seems odd against her memory of not having butter on her vegemite sandwiches. Her parents had spent their bread not on butter but on music education. Tenacity won Francesca a music scholarship at a school where the parents had shiny cars and the lawn was always green, even in Brisbane’s harhest summers. Homebound after a car accident on her 16th birthday, Francesca learnt to play her parents’ entire CD collection on piano. These songs she took around the world playing in hotel lobbies ritzier than the Grand Budapest Hotel. Singing back up for Buble inspired her to tell her story. She handed him a demo autographed for good measure. “Good luck, Love Fran xo”

Since 2008, Francesca has navigated her own path with four independent releases winning awards including a Los Angeles Music Award and an Australian Songwriting Award, and supporting international touring artists Belinda Carlisle and The Manhattan Transfer. Her 2015 debut album release “Own Self” reached no 9 in teh iTunes charts and sat comfortably for weeks in the top 10 of the AMRAP National Radio Charts. Heart breakingly beautiful vocals, joyful hooks, painted string arrangements and the production wizardry from Paul McKercher musically enrich Francesca’s Own Self. This is her magnificent life.

“From the eye catching album art to the pop sensibilities to the stunning production values, she leaves me with a genuine sense that I have experienced the greatest debut of any Australian artist this side of the millennium.” Australian Songwriters Association Magazine.
